Back in Brisbane!

Courtenay and I had an amazing time in Hobart, Tasmania last year. I learnt a lot, being the Chapter president of AUSTA and working with great string teachers and composers like Audrey Akerman, Nara Dennis, Anna Maguire, Jenny Thorp, Jeremy Williams, Yuen Yum Williams to name just a few.

On the recording front, I have recently completed a CD for young aspiring violinist Catherina Lee, and am about to start work on two projects – one for country singer/songwriter Ken McDonald, and another for folk singer Naomi McDonald.moved back in January and I was fortunate to be asked to work with Stephen Chin at Brisbane Grammar School. Stephen is an inspirational teacher, composer and performer.

I haven’t written much music lately but I am keen to get back into it starting with a recent commission for string quartet music for Melbourne based quartet String Source.

Camerata of St Johns were lovely enough to have me back in their ensemble, and I must say they are sounding better than ever having toured regional Queensland and performed at the Australian Festival of Chamber Music. I was lucky to be given the chance to perform one of the solo parts for Sarasate’s Navarra alongside Allana Wales.
